2) We will be members of the London Sports Council in 2006. Vern will be our rep.
3) It was agreed we will plan for 3 new balls per game rather than 2. Source cost last year was about $65 a dozen incl. tax. We can get balls from Buffalo for about $55 through Burlington Vintage Baseball. Eldon will follow up.
4) Registration this year will be $150. Labatt costs up 3%. Citywide up 50% (from $10 to $15 per game). We have $6,000 in the bank to start the season.
5) Fields in order of preference for booking
- Labatt
- LDBA
- Citywide 2 (Lower)
- Stronach
- St. Marys (decision on our 2006 road trip deferred to the next meeting)
6) Tournaments
- Play at the Plate July 6-9 Vern will post a link to the website home page
- Burlington July 28-30. Brad will make contact. Book Citywide (both) Friday night, all day Saturday, all day Sunday.
7) It was proposed that the league adopt a mandatory rubber-band batting order. It can be changed mid-season and before the playoffs. The motion was carried 5-4.
8) It was proposed that pitchers be limited to 9 outs per game. The motion was carried 6-4.
9) It was proposed that the playoff format be changed to 2 3-game round-robins based on the season-ending standings. The proposal was amended to include a championship game for each group. The amended motion was approved.
10) Eldon will explore venues other than the Huron House for the Annual Meeting and Banquet.
11) E-mail Eldon your equipment needs.
12) We will attempt to hold indoor practices this spring. Mike Lumley has offered his setup Monday and Thursday nights for $60/hr.
An indoor area for Southwest is also an option.
13) Bob has reformatted and reworded the constitution and bye-laws. Please review them for the next meeting.
